Pastor Dan Carlson

Pastor Dan Carlson retired as Police Chief of the City of Eden Prairie Minnesota in January of 2007. After serving 25 years in the law enforcement profession as a police officer, he transitioned to a new role serving the profession as a police and fire chaplain. Over the past 15 years, Dan has served as chaplain to 16 police and fire agencies, and additionally has provided short term spiritual care services to many other departments and agencies throughout Minnesota.

Dan was ordained as a pastor in the Minneapolis Area Synod of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on August 15, 2010. Pastor Carlson is the founder and president of Public Safety Ministries Inc. a nonprofit ministry with the mission: “Serving Those Who Protect – Promoting Spiritual Fitness in the Public Safety Professions.” He has been “called” to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Minnesota, and “deployed”  from Mount Calvary to serve as a missions pastor with Public Safety Ministries.
